Tanzanian youths will soon benefit from an upcoming programme of launching Robotic and Spaceflights in the country after a forum discussion from 23rd to 25th next week in Dar es Salaam.
Making the revelation at the Russian Cultural Centre in the city on Saturday, a former Russian Cosmonaut, Anton Shkaplerov said they plan to conduct a robotic forum for students of technical universities, high schools and colleges as well as primary schools so that pupils grow up learning more on modern robots and their importance in the current world.
He added: “The programme of the forum will bring on-board lecturers, seminars and master classes for students to also see samples of educational, industrial, aerospace robots as well as a movie “Challenge”, filmed on the International Space Station, with a commentary by a Russian on the operation of this huge robotic space.”
He said that with Russia’s support, Tanzanians will be well informed on science space and astronomy that should not only be viewed in the country as a study only for the advanced countries.
Mr Shkaplerov further said that with his understanding acquiring the knowledge and building satellites and robotic studies require sharing ideas just like they do with other countries to explore space that is for all human beings.
Equally, he noted that “all the humanity wants to conquer space and it is not possible to do that without engaging others, so this forum will be beneficial for Tanzanian youth and children because it will introduce them to the robotic world practically.”
Elaborating, he pointed out that the forum will help children and youths to admire and learn a lot on the robotic world for the benefit of the country, adding: “Russia is ready to support them in this field.”
Speaking on the opportunities to tap in the study, he said: “At least some 600 schoolchildren and students will attend, where some three Russian Universities of Southwest State, Tambov State Technical and Belgorod State National Research as well as the leading Russian organisation in the field of robotics, the Central Research Institute of Robotics and Technical Cybernetics will tell Tanzanians youth about the modern robots and how to study this field in Russia.”
Speaking about the forum from Southwest State University, Ksenia Rudaia, Head of the Department of International Projects and programmes said that the forum aimed at explaining to Tanzanian youths on the culture and language, adding that they expect to see good response from the youth.
“We want to start cooperation with Tanzanian universities and schools, so I think the participants of the forum will enjoy a lot, because there are a lot of lectures, seminars and master classes and I think they will have great time in the forum,” said Rudaia.
