Hearts of Oak legend Amankwah Mireku told Ghana Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton not to call up again Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams with the national team as he is still yet to prove what he is worth.

The 29-year old is yet to score a goal in Ghana shirt after 9 appearances with the Black Stars.

His performances in the just-ended FIFA international break has mounted criticism amid fans as he has been once again disappointing.

Speaking on his journey so far with the Black Stars, Hearts of Oak legend Amankwah Mireku said Chris Hughton should stop calling him and test other players.

“Since his debut for Ghana, what has he to show? Absolutely nothing”, Mireku said on Happy FM, as per Ghanasoccernet.

“He is yet to find the back of the net upfront, and other players also deserve a chance to demonstrate their abilities. Inaki needs to be excused from the team because in over nine appearances, he has nothing to show.

“So why continue giving him playing time in the team to prove what? If the coach feels he is too important to lose, then there should be a consultation with the coach of Athletic Bilbao on how to unlock the player so he can score goals for Ghana.”
