The National Film Authority of Ghana has formed an alliance with Nigeria-based FilmOne Group, and Silverbird Cinema of Ghana, to hold the first Africa Cinema Summit in Accra in November.

According to the organisers, the aim of the summit is to unite cinema stakeholders from around the globe.

In a statement sent to Saturday Beats, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Film Authority of Ghana, Juliet Asante, noted that Ghana was excited to host discussions on the continent’s cinema ecosystem. She said, “Africa is cinema’s greatest opportunity in the 21st-century and the ACS serves as a call and pathway to realising the potential of cinema for Africans and the cinema business globally.”Related News

The Group Chief Executive Officer of the FilmOne Group, Kene Okwuosa, added that they were excited to be part of the summit. He said, “We are thrilled to be a part of NFA’s Africa Cinema Summit, bringing together industry leaders and visionaries to shape the future of cinema business in Africa. The collective vision is to foster a dynamic platform for industry players to converge, interact and forge robust partnerships that will galvanise the cinema ecosystem in Africa.”

The statement noted that activities that would take place at the summit include showcase of African films, as well as exhibition and business matchmaking sessions.
