The glamorous premiere of the movie, ‘The Two Aishas’ was held in Lagos as the audience made up of the dignitaries, captains of industries, film makers, men and women from the movie industry and the movie enthusiasts were adorned in different Arabian attires of sorts.
The movie, which is about tolerance, truth and lasting friendship, had people from all walks of life come to grace it.
The Two Aishas is about women of the same Islamic faith and status who are married to two best friends. Their loyalty and friendship got tested and no matter how they look at it, one party felt robbed and betrayed by the other, threatening to tear apart an enduring friendship from childhood and test their faith as devout Muslims.
The cast include Rahama Sadau, Maryam Booth, Paul Utomi, Akeem Ogara, Shushu Abubakar with special appearance by Nyma Akashat-Zibiri and Sulaiman Aledeh. It was co-written by Moradeke Awe. The street children were also spotlighted in the movie as young footballers, radiating hope of a better tomorrow.
Kannywood actress, Maryam Booth who noted that she was delighted to be part of the project. She commended the executive producer of assembling such a great cast and crew and urged movie enthusiasts to come to cinemas in their droves to watch ‘The Two Aishas’ as the theme resonates with all and sundry.
Speaking about the movie, the Executive Producer, Shareefah Abiola Andu, said shooting the movie was a dream of eleven years and she thanks Allah for allowing her to bring the dream to fruition. The faith based movie which showcased Islam in a beautiful light, was a project that espouses courage.
Andu who is known for merchandising Islamic materials said, “We are beyond excited to constantly find new expressions to elevate the beauty of Islam and celebrate our culture.
The “Two Aisha’s , provided a new opportunity for us to do what we have been known for, this time through the lens of filmmaking. Indeed, there is a nexus between fashion and film, so this is not a totally strange terrain for us. We are absolutely thrilled to share the movie this beautiful and colourful movie with the rest of the world.. I believe that everyone would be proud of what we have created.”
